In our plants topic in science, Year 2 have learnt about the main parts of a plant and its flower, different kinds of plants and seeds and how they grow and survive. They made flower bombs, planted them and waited patiently for them to grow. They also cut fruits to find the seeds and then planted them.

In geography the key question was: 'Why does it matter where our food comes from?'
The children had to recognise that food comes from plants and animals and describe what happens on a farm. They identified and described what happens on a dairy farm and suggested reasons why the weather in Devon makes it a good place for dairy farming. They also described how cheese is made from milk. They learned about UK top 10 favourite fruits, tasted and ranked them for themselves.
