Admissions (Nursery)

Beech Hyde Nursery was the perfect stepping stone for our son, after attending preschool, and before heading off to school. He just thrived there!

Why choose a nursery school?

A nursery school year differs from playgroup, pre-school and other continuous provision-based childcare in that it is taught by teachers and is dedicated to the early years curriculum which feeds into the main school curriculum. It means that children entering Reception having been to nursery are more confident with the transition.

Beech Hyde nursery is bright, spacious, well resourced and full of fun and adventure. We focus on child centred learning and play. It is staffed by a fully qualified primary/nursery teacher and Early Years Practitioners, and therefore, the quality of education is outstanding. Our nursery children are made to feel a full part of the school, going over to the main building for PE, assemblies and to join in other events. Consequently, we find that children joining Reception classes from our nursery often make better progress than those who have not. Reception teachers in other schools have said the same!

We would love you to become a part of the Beech Hyde family. Please contact us on 01582 832661 or admin@beechhyde.aetrust.uk, if you would like to look round the school and meet the head teacher.

Nursery Provision

We provide 15 or 30 hours provision, depending upon parent preference. It is run daily in 3 sessions:

08.30am - 11.30am - Morning Nursery taught by our fully qualified nursery teacher and Early Years Practitioners. This covers the full nursery early years curriculum and can be accessed as the universal 15 hours entitlement.

11.30am - 12.15pm - Lunch club - free to any parent accessing the full days provision that day. A packed lunch must be provided. (Beech Hyde is a nut free school.) Lunch club can be accessed if a child is only accessing the morning or afternoon, but this is at a cost of £4.50 per session.

12.15pm - 3.15pm - Afternoon nursery taught by level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner - active sessions of learning through play. This is free for those parents entitled to 30 hours provision (code needed), or can be paid for at £18 per afternoon (£6 per hour).

For parents paying for provision, a half-terms notice is required before terminating the placement.

What our parents say.........................................

"Nursery at Beech Hyde has far exceeded our expectations. The school classroom style structure feels like the perfect preparation for the next stage.”

“I have been so impressed by both the dedication of the staff and the wonderful activities and experiences”

“At Beech Hyde Nursery, they have such a wonderful curriculum and way of teaching which has really prepared our children so well for their following years at school.”

“We were so amazed at how much our children truly blossomed at Beech Hyde Nursery - both in their learning, and their social skills and independence too”

“It was lovely to see our son take part in the whole school sharing assembly; the teachers have given him the confidence to stand up in front of the whole school and show off the French he had learnt!”

“We have seen our daughter become so much more confident and able during her time under the nurturing care of the EYFS team. She has made friends, is learning to write, played her part in the nativity, and tells us all about the wide variety of knowledge she gains every day. Above all, she is happy and content!”

"Our son has an end of August birthday, making him one of the youngest in his school year group. Sending him to Beech Hyde Nursery was the best decision we have ever made for his development. He started off shy and all we wanted was for him to make some friends and learn to write his name. Within a few months of the start of the year, he had made lots of friends and his development in phonics, writing, speech, understanding, and enjoyment of learning was huge"
