What is Prevent?

Simply put, Prevent is about safeguarding individuals from being drawn into terrorism, ensuring those vulnerable to extremist and terrorist views are given appropriate advice and support at an early stage. 

At Beech Hyde we ensure that conversations are open and inclusive. We aim to promote healthy discussion and provide support if a pupil is struggling with opposing opinions. Appropriate action will be taken if we feel a pupils views may be a danger to them or others. 

The school has robust policies on anti-radicalisation and extremism. The schools PREVENT officer is Karen Thomas, Headteacher.
