Trips and Visits
Getting out and about to enrich our experience is such an important part of learning. At Beech Hyde we like to ensure that pupils get at least 2 external trips every year, in addition to our whole school Pantomime visit at Christmas! We appreciate that this can be costly for parents/carers and so the Beech Hyde Association subsidise these trips so no trip cost more than £15 per child. All trips and visits are linked to an aspect of their curriculum.
Last year, and typically, Reception visited St Albans Cathedral and went on a local nature walk. Year 1 and 2 enjoyed Hertford Museum, a visit from Safari Stu and Forest School day at Nomansland/ Hertfordshire Zoo.
Year 3 went to the Roald Dahl Museum and enjoyed a museum day from Hertford Museum with Year 4. Year 4 also loved their day at Whipsnade Zoo. Year 5 had a fantastic time at the STEM Centre, had a virtual visit from a polar explorer and completed geography fieldwork at the river. Year 6 had an amazing week at an outward bound activity centre in September, setting them up for a great year. They also visited RAF London (Hendon) as part of their study of the Battle of Britain.
